Impossible release

The companion and accomplice of Marc Dutroux, who kidnapped, raped and killed several girls in the 90s, Martin could leave jail within a month in order to enter a convent run by the Order of Saint Clare. She has already served 16 out of a 30 year sentence. The Belgium daily recalls this national trauma — "The Dutroux affair is a crime that society will not forgive" but notes that "ordinary penalties apply to extraordinary cases, the only guarantee that justice is the same for all."
