DSK indicted for pimping
Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was charged in the northern city of Lille on Monday with "aggravated pimping" for his alleged participation in a prostitution ring. After an eight hour hearing he was released under a €100,000 bail.

No 10 bowed to mounting pressure and published two lists of backers who have enjoyed the Prime Minister’s hospitality on official property on at least nine occasions in the past two years.

Accusations over CIA prison
Former Polish intelligence chief Zbigniew Siemiątkowski has been accused of organizing an illegal CIA prison in Poland where alleged terrorists were detained from 2002-3. According to the Warsaw daily, the prosecutors investigating the affair have also enough evidence to start proceedings against former PM Leszek Miller.

Flynn resigns from FF before party meeting on expulsions
Former EU commissioner Pádraig Flynn has become the second high-profile figure after ex-Taoiseach Bertie Aherne to resign from Fianna Fáil. The Mahon tribunal concluded Mr Flynn had corruptly sought and received a payment of IR£50,000 from developer Tom Gilmartin in 1989. In his short letter to the party, Mr Flynn reiterated his rejection of the adverse findings against him.

Police investigate new Krekar threats
Najmuddin Farah Ahmad, an Iraqi Kurd known as "Mullah Krekah" has been sentenced to five years in prison for death threats against several Kurdish and Norwegian personalities, including one minister who had demanded his expulsion from Norway in 2003. The founder of Islamist group Ansar al-Islam, Ahmad has been a refugee in Norway since 1991.
