Founded in 1998 by a former director of Madrid daily ABC, Luis María Ansón, La Razón ("Reason") is Spain’s second largest Catholic, conservative and monarchist daily. In 2005, it was taken over by the Planeta group, which also owns the Antena 3 television channel and the Onda Cero station. Every Sunday, La Razón publishes a Spanish edition of the Vatican daily Osservatore Romano.
