Vjesnik

Zagreb
Language : Croatian
Vjesnik
Circulation : 8,000

Founded in 1940, Vjesnik ("The Messenger") which was originally an underground communist newspaper, is now closely associated with the HDZ political party. After the country’s independence in 1991, it remained one of the rare dailies to resist the trend for tabloid style journalism in the Croatian press – a stance which may be responsible for its declining circulation.
