Established in 1845 in Ottawa, Canada, this English-language daily was first known as The Bytown Packet, before becoming The Citizen six years later. After passing through several different hands, it was eventually purchased by the CanWest Global. The Ottawa Citizen is considered close to the Canadian conservatives. Its website carries most of the content of the daily paper edition, as well as a classified ads section.
