“Spain gets more immigrants that the United Kingdom, France or Italy”, leads El Mundo in its frontpage. The “massive” arrival of immigrants “has changed Spain’s population, where the foreign presence has almost multiplied by nine in the last ten years, far ahead of any EU neighbor, except for super-populated Germany”, outlines El Mundo. According to Eurostat, in 2009  almost 12.3% of the total population was of foreign origin, which doubles the European average (6.4%). El Mundo castigates the socialist government and its “crazy immigration policy” for these "exorbitant"figures and considers that “it is necessary to implement a restrictive policy” to stabilize immigration in Spain.
