30 April 2013
Reduced spending for the French Army
French President François Hollande:
There will be no confrontation with Germany.

Defence budgets have also fallen victim to the crisis. The country’s 2013 report on national defence and security, submitted to president François Hollande on April 29, paves the way for drastically reduced military spending.
The same is true for the rest of Europe. From 2008 to 2012, 20 European countries reduced their military budgets by more than 10 per cent.
