Thomas Lauritzen
Danish journalist Thomas Lauritzen is a former correspondent for Danish public radio, and the current Brussels correspondent for the daily Politiken. He is also the co-author of Spidsen for Europa (“Leading Europe”, People’s Press, 2003) on the 2002 Danish European Presidency.

On 1st January, 2012, when Copenhagen takes over the rotating presidency of the EU, the recently elected left-wing government will have to contend with two major issues: the euro and Schengen, which have both come to represent an EU that is increasingly unable to rally support.
