Alasdair Fotheringham
Alasdair Fotheringham is a British foreign affairs and sports journalist specialising in cycle racing. Based in Spain, he works as a freelance journalist for The Independent, The Guardian and The Daily Express. Having covered the Tour de France 17 times, he has been The Independent's cycling correspondent since 2001.
Following riots on the Costa Brava, and hotel balcony deaths in Majorca, the Spanish authorities are increasingly looking at ways to crack down on alcohol tourism.
