Robert Fisk
One of Britain’s most celebrated journalists, Robert Fisk (b. 1946) is The Independent’s Middle East correspondent. Based in Beirut for more than 30 years, he has been an excoriating critic of the US led war in Afghanistan and the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He holds more British and International Journalism awards than any other foreign correspondent.
Euphoria is premature, as the West is fated to make the same mistakes as in Iraq, argues Robert Fisk. And if Gaddafi remains at large, a guerrilla war eroding the new powers becomes inevitable.
