Born in Ludwigshafen in 1939, Rainer Hachfeld is a German playwright and political cartoonist. Having studied art in Berlin, he began his career as a caricaturist in Spandauer Volksblatt in 1966, and then in EXTRA-Blatt. He has also contributed to Stern and Der Abend. Since 1990, he has worked with the socialist daily Neues Deutschland.
