Map Oberndorff and Thomas Vanheste
Map Oberndorff has been writing for Vrij Nederland since 2008, specialising in economic affairs. Before that, she worked for the political and international desk of the daily De Volkskrant and on its Saturday supplement, Volkskrant Magazine. A philosopher and mathematician by training, Thomas Vanheste has been a journalist at the weekly Vrij Nederland since 2004. He usually covers the sciences, the environment, and infrastructure.

At the end of June, the Dutch weekly Vrij Nederland published a lengthy investigation of the Anglo-Dutch oil giant. A big carbon footprint, oil spills, and serious shadowy areas persist.
