Catherine Simon
French journalist Catherine Simon (b. 1956) is a former North Africa correspondent for the daily Le Monde, where she now works as a feature writer. She is also the author of a number of detective novels: these include Un baiser sans moustache (A Kiss Without a Moustache) published by Série noire in 1998, and On ne quittera jamais le territoire des loups (No Escape from the Country of the Wolves) published by L’Aube Noire in 2007.
Karina and Rouslan fled from Chechnya to France, before being deported back to Poland, their point of entry into the EU. Le Monde reports on an absurd itinerary dictated by the Dublin II regulation.
