Morten Hansen
Morten Hansen is director of the Faculty of Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics, Riga. His major fields of research are monetary economics, EU political economy and growth. He is author of several publications concerning the Latvian economy.
For a long time the country with the highest growth in the EU, Latvia finds itself staring into a financial abyss. Seeking to economise its way out of the crisis by slashing public spending, it may even have to devalue its currency.
