Carlo Stagnaro
Carlo Stagnaro (b. 1977) is an Italian journalist. Trained in environmental engineering, he specialises in Kyoto Protocol- and global warming-related issues. He is a researcher at the Bruno Leoni Institute and writes for the Wall Street Journal, as well as the bilingual international affairs journal Aspenia and the Italian dailies Il Fatto Quotidiano, Libero and Il Foglio, on whose site he has a blog.
The crisis has put a dent in carbon emissions – and in the foundations of Europe’s planned green economy. By calling subsidies for inefficient technologies into question, that blow might yet be a boon for the renewable energy sector.
