Sorin Roşca Stănescu
Romanian journalist Sorin Roşca Stănescu (b. 1949) is a leader writer for Jurnalul Naţional. A high-profile figure who often comments on controversial issues in Romania, Stănescu was the director of the daily Ziua from its launch in 1989 until it closed in 2010.

On 29 July, Romania holds a referendum to confirm or reject the impeachment of the country’s president approved by parliament early this month.
