Jan Dziadul
Having graduated with a legal degree from the University of Wroclaw, Jan Dziadul began to publish in Polityka in 1989. Since then he has contributed over 1,000 reports and features to the weekly. He is also the author of a book Rozstrzelana kopalnia (A mine executed) about the massacre of workers at the Wujek mine, which was adapted for the cinema in the film Death like a Slice of Bread, which won several awards.

It is not easy to celebrate a common past in a town that has been divided by history. However, in spite of tensions between Poles and Czechs, life in Cieszyn and Český Těšín is beginning to benefit from the border that separates the two towns.
