Bas van Lier
Bas van Lier (1961) is a Dutch freelance journalist, specialized in design. His articles frequently appear in NRC Handelsblad. After studying history in Amsterdam and Leyde, he became one of the pioneers of non-fiction book for children in the Netherlands. He has written a dozen books for children, including one on the European Union.
Brussels is the source of numerous poorly designed communications. On the Internet, and in brochures and logos, European institutions appear to be incapable of showing any imagination. A Dutch journalist makes the case for making more frequent calls to creative professionals, with interesting results.
