Gideon Levy
Gideon Levy (b. 1953) is an Israeli writer and journalist. Editorialist for Ha'aretz, he writes a column under the “Twilight Zone” heading in which he regularly denounces Israel's policy towards the Palestinian Territories, the insensitivity of the media and Israeli society for its occupation of the West Bank. This has led to his being called, in turns “propagandist for Hamas” and “heroic journalist.” Winner of several journalism awards, in 2010 he published The Punishment of Gaza (Verso).
