Dominika Ćosić
Dominika Ćosić is the Brussels correspondent for Wprost weekly. Having graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, she became a journalist for the local daily Dziennik Polskiy, before moving to Wprost, where she now specializes on Balkan issues. She also wrties a blog, “Brukselka po europejsku” [Brussels (sprouts) the European way] on the Wprost24 website. In 2005, she co-authored a travel guide to the Balkan countries, and debuted as a novelist, publishing “Uśmiech Dalidy” [Dalida’s smile], a story about a girl who – like the author – has Polish-Yugoslav roots.

Separated by wars which marked the 1990s, some citizens of the former Yugoslavia are attempting to rebuild the cultural ties, which were a feature of the Titoist state. Today, with encouragement from Europe, political leaders are also beginning to recognize this trend.
