Controversy: Anti-immigrant website shames Netherlands

The big winner in the Italian elections, Beppe Grillo, is often described as populist. But in Europe, this political category is somewhat blurred, covering quite a cross-section of movements, argues a Belgian historian.
In Wednesday's Dutch general election, the Dutch press unanimously agrees, the victory of incumbent Prime Minister Mark Rutte's conservative People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) and of Diederik Samsom's Labour Party (PvdA) favoured the moderates and pro-Europeans to the detriment of the eurosceptic fringe such as Geert Wilders' populist Party for Freedom or Emile Roemer's far-left Socialist Party.
Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, has yet to distance himself from the anti-immigrant web site recently launched by the far-right Party for Freedom (PVV) headed by Geert Wilders. This silence reveals the country's political divisions and a lack of vision on immigration issues, argues philosopher Paul Scheffer.
In launching an anti-immigrant website, the Dutch populist has once again issued a provocation in bad taste. But the good news is that it encourages us to examine the relationship between Europeans from two parts of the continent, writes a Czech columnist.
Air your grievances against Eastern European workers: the new website set up by Geert Wilders’ party has shocked several EU countries. When will the PM Mark Rutte, currently dependent on the PVV’s support, condemn such a provocative move? asks NRC Handelsblad.
